In June 2016, COVER Corp’s founder and CEO, Motoaki Tanigo also known as “YAGOO”established the company to further explore innovations in AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) technologies.
Tanigo previously achieved success with the Japanese company Imagineer, creating video game characters for renowned brands like Sanrio. Leveraging this experience, he decided to apply his talent and skills to build COVER Corp as we know it today.
Before founding COVER Corp, Tanigo served as CEO of 30mins. Inc. for over six years. This experience equipped him with critical insights to establish COVER Corp and navigate and innovate in the rapidly growing fields of AR and VR.
Inspired by “virtual idols” like Hatsune Miku and following the success of a “two-way livestreaming” technology demo, hololive was officially launched in September 2017 and has continued to grow ever since.
Since then, hololive has been at the forefront of VTuber innovation and growth, with Tanigo fostering an environment that supports talents in thriving. Through continuous improvements in livestreaming software and motion capture technology, hololive talents can perform on large-scale stages worldwide and collaborate with renowned international brands.

The event will feature all 9 talents from hololive Indonesia’s three generations: Ayunda Risu, Moona Hoshinova, Airani Iofifteen, Kureiji Ollie, Anya Melfissa, Pavolia Reine, Vestia Zeta, Kaela Kovalskia, and Kobo Kanaeru, performing together on a vibrant stage on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at ICE BSD Hall 6, South Tangerang, as part of Comic Frontier 21.
Currently, the total subscriber count for all hololive Indonesia members across their YouTube channels exceeds 10.7 million.
